This Avila Beach engagement session happened to be on a perfect summer day. My goal for engagement sessions is for them to be fun and relaxed. The more things I can do to help prompt you to laugh or be playful with each other (and not take it too seriously), the better!
These two had fun with it and certainly weren’t afraid to be silly together. These moments can make for the best laughing photos and genuine smiles. I want to provide you with beautiful photos, but I also want those photos to feel like you.
During an engagement session, I direct you rather than pose. Meaning I will put you in the place with the gorgeous light and I will prompt you with something like “Matt, can you pull Ashley in close?” This way, when Matt pulls Ashley to him, it will be in a way that is natural for the couple. I also try to pay attention to the details and if something is out of place, I will of course fix that! But my goal is to foster a session that makes you feel comfortable in front of the camera and together. A session that feels like it is a good representation of you as a couple.
Ashley and Matt had planned on getting married in April of this year. Unfortunately, with all that has happened this year due to Covid-19, they had to reschedule. I am so excited to celebrate these two on their new date.
I also just posted an engagement guide on my website (some of these photos are on there), if you want to check that out. Click HERE.
