This Walnut Grove wedding in Moorpark, ca with Kelly and Nick was so joyful. Walnut Grove is such a beautiful venue. This celebration was in June and the lighting was near perfect all day. There was plenty of shade for pre ceremony portraits, and the trees provided such beautiful light, even earlier than sunset. Although the sunset was gorgeous as well.
One of the bride’s close friends had passed, so Kelly’s sister brought a sunflower to honor her. It sat on an empty chair at the ceremony and was a beautiful way to remember her. Kelly’s nieces and nephews were the ring bearer and flower girls and they were so sweet. The bride and groom had a “first prayer” together before the ceremony. At this, they didn’t see each other, but got to have a moment together just the two of them before the wedding.
Nick’s reaction to seeing Kelly was one of the sweetest ones I’ve seen.
One of my closest friends growing up, Katie, is Kelly’s older sister. I photographed Katie’s wedding 8 years ago in Carpinteria. It is always a joy to photograph friends and family of past clients, but it’s even more special to photograph wedding’s of friends. I’ve known Kelly since she was in preschool and it was such an honor to be there to photograph her beautiful day. Kelly and Nick have hearts of gold and it was evident with the people surrounded themselves as well. Their guests were also really great at keeping the dance floor going the whole night, and the celebration ended with a bubble exit.
Soltana From Velvet Alley Events did a great job coordinating. Jana and Co did Kelly’s Hair and makeup, Bruce Barrios kept the dance floor full. Marina with Wild Flower Florist did the florals.
