This Tooth and Nail Winery wedding in Paso Robles was a dream. I got married at Tooth and Nail in 2015. Although I love so many venues in the area, it feels extra special to photograph a wedding at the same place we had our celebration.
This couple chose to do a first look. They had a decent sized wedding and they knew that if they did all of their formal portraits during cocktail hour, they wouldn’t have much time for the rest of their guests. They opted to do a first look, some portraits of the two of them, and all wedding party formals before the ceremony. This freed up time for them during cocktail hour to enjoy their guests in that setting.
The first look allowed for them to have a bit of alone time together before the celebration began. A lot of couples find that this is very calming, and it allows you to spend more time with your partner and full wedding party on the day of, instead of having to stay separate until after the ceremony. A first look isn’t for everyone. But it can be a really great option for many.
We did this for our wedding at Tooth and Nail. We even did all of our family photos before the ceremony as well. It allowed us to spend a lot more time together and with our wedding party (of which we had many mutual friends on both sides).
We snuck out at Sunset to get some golden hour portraits, and we brought Joey’s classic car.
A sparkler exit was the perfect end to the evening.

Lorie Boe Floral provided the beautiful blooms. The Queen’s Bees did hair and makeup. Kramer Events kept the dance floor going.
I hope you enjoyed this Tooth and Nail Winery wedding.
