Looking for a Montana De Oro Family photographer? I’m Tayler, and I have a photography studio in Los Osos, about 15 minutes from Spooners Cove in MDO.
This was a rare warm day for our family portrait session at Spooners cove in Montana De Oro State park in Los Osos, California.
The most important tip I have for all parents during your session:
is to take this as permission to relax and be fully present during out session. It’s my job to prompt smiles and genuine giggle, while making sure the whole family looks just right! This is your moment to unwind and let a professional guide your family in looking their best.
We even take “wiggle breaks” and small play breaks between photos so the kids don’t feel as stifled in their play during a session. Sometimes a five minute break from “posing” to play with mom and dad can really do wonders, even more than the promise of a sweet treat at the end of the session. Playing with your kids for a break can also produce some really sweet candid and genuine moments as well.
I adore working with these clients, and have for the past few years. For this year, they wanted a Montana De Oro State Park session, and we happened to choose the best day in the fall for weather. It was warm and had a slight breeze, but not warm enough to be uncomfortable. This location is beautiful, but is often foggy or a tad on the chilly side.
Montana De Oro is a unique and stunning location in any weather, but there is something special about a warm sunny family session at Spooners Cove. MDO is one of those places that makes me feel incredibly grateful to be a family photographer on the Central Coast. We have so many beautiful locations for photos.
Keep in mind that state parks are not pet friendly, so if you are hoping to bring along your furry friend, I have many other locations I can suggest in the area where they are allowed.
