Alaska Adventures

This summer has been full of photo shoots, vacations and trips. Life feels like it slows down just enough for me to catch my breath and then takes off again.

I currently have this whole week before the whirl of weddings and trips starts again. It feels so good to be able to sit, edit and enjoy uninterrupted work time.

We spent the majority of the trip near Denali National Park. This 6 Million acre National Park is like no other. Personal vehicles are only allowed to go 15 miles into the park. If you want to get any farther than that you have to be dropped off by a bus into the park. The preservation of the park is evident and glorious. We would drive the 15 mile drive every night around 1 am looking for wild life … all these photos of animals were taken at one in the morning! Alaska as 22 hours of sunlight this time of year, which was sure hard to get used to!

We were so blessed to be able to sight 5 Grizzly bears, a Lynx,  fox, tons of moose, caribou, and many little bunnies and cute critters. Oh, and I forgot to mention the swarms of mosquitos that ate me alive!

One of our first nights we got to stay in a bed and breakfast where they had reindeer we could feed.

One of our last nights we found a beautiful campsite right on the river near Anchorage, where we fit all four of us into a two person tent. Not the best night of sleep i’ve ever gotten.

It was a fantastic week and I’m excited to share some of my snapshots. Enjoy!
