These are some of my favorite people and best friends. I don’t take enough photos of my loved ones, so I’m trying to change that this year. It feels so special to be able to capture friends in this way.
The sweet San Luis Obispo family portrait session was extra special for me.
The session started at Bishops Peak in San Luis Obispo and ended the session at the Bay in Los Osos. We originally planned to photograph at Oaks Reserve in Los Osos first, but it was VERY foggy in Los Osos. Fog is beautiful for open areas like beaches and we actually went to Los Osos for photos by the Bay for our second location. However, we wanted some photos including that warm sunshine, so Bishops was a great adjustment. Many locations like beaches or open fields have the best lighting at sunset. Locations that are shaded by trees or mountains, like Bishops Peak, are best about two hours before sunset. This made Bishops peak a perfect first location.
This sweet family wanted to include their 8-year-old dog, and of course, I thought this was a great idea!
Including your pet in a session can be such a beautiful way of commemorating your love for them and adding more personality to your session. I know their dog well, so I know she would be fine with me holding her leash for some photos of just the family. I usually suggest bringing a friend that can help wrangle the pup during the session. They often bring treats and make it a fun experience for the dog, and a much less stressful experience for the parents and family.
I am offering a few different mini sessions and full family session options this Fall if you are interested in scheduling your own San Luis Obispo Family portrait session!
