I photographed my first wedding at 16 years old. From that day on, I had my heart set on becoming a professional wedding photographer. It seems insane, looking back on it now. But I am forever grateful to my younger self for fully committing, so early on.
Eight years ago, with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Brooks Institute of Photography in hand, I started my business full-time in San Luis Obispo.
I have a newborn and portrait studio in Los Osos, California (about ten miles from SLO).
While weddings will ALWAYS be my first love, I have a soft spot for family and newborn photos. Many past weddings clients come to me for photos when they add to their family, and my heart swells EVERY time.
Paddleboarding, cat cuddles, yoga, houseplants, anything miniature, and a good meal with friends.
On any day off, you could probably find Micah and I: hanging out with friends, playing outdoors, eating pizza, drinking wine (any other chardonnay fans out there?), or having a movie/tv marathon with our cat.
My husband is my favorite person, and I strongly believe laughter is the best medicine.
I look forward to hearing more about the awesome dance party you are planning!
Micah and I were good friends for three years before we started dating. Our story wasn't picture perfect. We went on a date when I was 20 years old, and I called him the next day and asked if we could "just be friends". Long story short, I was SO wrong. But I will always be grateful for our three years of "just" friendship to get to know one another.
In 2015, we got married at Tooth and Nail Winery in Paso Robles, Ca. Having all our favorite people in one place was incredible and a tad overwhelming (in a good way, but people don't usually tell you about the overwhelming part).
For our wedding, our priority was a big dance party to celebrate with all our loved ones. I'm a huge proponent of making your wedding day unique to you. With forty-nine pizzas delivered (thanks Dominoes) and plenty of delicious local wine and beer, we kicked off our reception with a bang. I highly recommend keeping the traditions and expectations that are important to you and let go of the rest.
